Recruitment Marketing Public
The key to successful recruitment marketing is getting the right message in front of the right candidate at the right time. Recruitment Marketing makes it easy through a variety of features.
The first step in communicating with candidates is to identify and segment the particular audience you want to engage.
For this scenario, we will focus on the example of segmenting out all those candidates who have demonstrated an interest in Engineering jobs.
Part 1: Generating the list
- From the side menu, under CRM, click Candidates.
- On the Candidate List screen, at the top left of the page, click the Filters button.
- Expand the Interactions section and tick Jobs viewed.
- Under the Jobs viewed section, select Has at least one.
- Tick Category. By default, Has any of is selected, which you can leave or select another option as required.
- Click the Select drop-down box and select your categories, e.g. Engineering.
- Click Done to set the categories.
- Finally, click Apply to set the filter.
The page will refresh and display your filtered candidate list, which you can now save as a Static or Smart List. See Part 2 below for details.
Part 2: Saving the list
- Click the down arrow to Select All candidates.
- From the top right of the page, click Actions, then click +Create new list.
- For List Name, enter a relevant name e.g. Category Viewed: Engineering.
It's recommended to create a Smart List over a Static List as a Static List captures the candidates at a particular point in time, whereas a Smart List is dynamic and continuously updated. For more information about Lists, see Creating a list for details. - Click Create.
Once created, the page will refresh and load your newly created list. From here, you can use this list to send emails and/or SMS. See Part 3 below for details.
Part 3: Creating the email/SMS message
Before creating and sending emails or SMS messages, some things to consider are:
- Are there candidates in your list who have already completed a job application?
- Are there candidates in your list who are in-flight/active recruitment?
- Are there previously unsuccessful candidates in your list that you would prefer not to communicate with?
With these considerations, it's recommended to filter these candidates out of your list and add the remaining to a new Static List when you are ready to communicate - the Static List being a subset of the Smart List and contains the candidates that are filtered out at this point in time.
When you have made these considerations and the list of candidates is who you want to communicate with, then refer to the following articles on how to create and send emails/SMS messages.
