Embedded Apply Applications

Recruitment Marketing Public

By default, when a candidate clicks Apply on a job, they're redirected to your ATS's own application form via the job's apply URL. Depending on your ATS integration, you can instead let candidates apply directly within Recruitment Marketing via a guided multi-step application.

This is a Call to Action (CTA) level setting and is available regardless of which ATS you're integrated with, provided your ATS integration is configured to sync jobs and submit candidate applications.

Configuring your Call To Action

  1. Create or edit a call to action of type Apply.
  2. Check "Will the candidate make a direct application from the call to action?" to enable direct applications to the ATS.
  3. Set the direct application kind to Multi-Step.

  4. Click on Edit Form Fields.
  5. Add a new form field of type Multi-step Job Application Questions.

    type of field

With this configured, any job capable of a direct application will redirect the candidate into the multi-step application flow, instead of sending them to your ATS's own apply form.

Customizing the Application

Field Layout

  • Candidate binding fields such as name and email address always appear on the "Apply now" block itself, and are always repeated on the first step of the multi-step application.
  • Job questions only ever render within the multi-step application, never on the "Apply now" block. The number of steps and ordering of job questions are determined entirely by the ATS's configuration and are imported during the job sync - they can't be edited or reordered from within Recruitment Marketing.
  • All other fields added to the call to action fields, such as attachments or dropdowns, can be configured to appear on the "Apply now" block, the multi-step application, or both. They will appear as the first step in the multi-step application. This can be configured from the call to action settings.

Application Text

The text shown to the candidate can also be customized from within the call to action settings:

  • The Confirmation Body Text is shown to the candidate after successfully submitting their application. This field supports rich text formatting, including font size and hyperlinks.
  • Submit & Next Step button text can also be optionally customized.

Application Template

  • The layout of the Job Application Template Page can be configured using the Careers Website Page Template Editor.
  • A Job Application block must always be included in the page layout to render the questions.
