Employee Connections allows customers to create Live Chat events, which allow users to ask questions to Ambassadors at the company in real time.
To create a Live Chat event, you will first want to have set up the Live Chat Template Page and candidate Live Chat Email Templates. The data that you enter into the Live Chat creation will power all of these templates to make promotion straightforward.
Event setup
- From the side menu, under Recruitment Events, click Live chat.

The Employee Connections Live Chats list page will appear. In the top right corner, click the Manage Live Chats in Employee Connections button to enter the Employee Connections application.

In the Employee Connections application, click the Create Live Chat button to access the form builder.

There are two pages to complete when creating a Live Chat: the first for required details, and the second for optional information. After finishing the first page, click Next to proceed to the Additional Details section.
- Once all desired information is entered, click Save.
Note:
If the header image is not set on the form, the default that is set in the Live Chat template page will be used instead.
Live Chat display in Recruitment Marketing
Once created, Live Chat(s) will be displayed in the Employee Connections Live Chats list page within Recruitment Marketing. If any edits need to be made, simply click on the Manage Live Chat in Employee Connections button, then click on the relevant Live Chat to edit any details on the creation form.
Upon completion of the Live Chat, the numbers for Invited, Subscribed, and Attended will be displayed.
Live Chat Actions
In the Employee Connections Live Chats list page, the icons under the Actions column are:

Show (eye icon): Selecting this icon, or the title itself, will display information regarding the Live Chat within Recruitment Marketing. While viewing this information, you may utilise the "Manage Live Chat in Employee Connections" button to access the Live Chat directly.
Note:
If a user is not set up correctly within Recruitment Marketing, they will show with a "User does not have Employee Ambassador role" tag against their name, as per the example above. This user needs to be given the Employee Ambassador role to show on the Live Chat Template Page promotion.
- Preview Live Chat page (linkout icon): Opens the Live Chat promotional page.
- Invite (envelope icon): Opens the Candidate Grid for you to search/select and invite candidates to a Live Chat using bulk actions.
Tracking candidate interaction in the Candidate Grid
On the Candidate Grid, you can filter to see which candidates were Invited, Subscribed, or Attended your Live Chat Event.
To display Live chat data:
- From the side menu, under CRM, click Candidates.
- Click the Columns button (top right).
- Click Interaction to expand the list and select Live chats.
The Live chats column will now display on the Candidate Grid.
To filter by Live chat status:
- Click the Filters button (top left).
- Click Interactions to expand the filter list and select the Live chats filter.
- Apply your desired filter conditions. In addition to standard conditions, Live chats includes two specific sub-filters:
- Date Range: Select a specific date range or period of days.

Event status: Filter by Invited, Subscribed, or Attended.

- Click Apply.
The list will update based on your selection.
Tip:
With the Live chats column displayed in the Candidate Grid, you can hover your mouse over a specific cell in a candidate's row to see their interaction history with other Live chats.
