How candidate verification email works

Recruitment Marketing Public

Email verification confirms the validity and accuracy of an email address. The candidate verification email ensures the address entered is real and belongs to a genuine person. This improves deliverability, reduces bounces, and helps maintain a cleaner, more reliable talent database.

How verification works

  1. A candidate enters their details into a Call-to-Action (CTA) form.

    candidate completes a CTA
  2. When they click Send, the system will trigger an automated verification email to the address they have entered.

  3. On screen, the candidate will be prompted to check their inbox and to copy and paste the validation code delivered.

  4. Only when the candidate enters the code correctly and clicks Verify will the CTA submission be completed.

Note:

As long as a candidate uses the same browser and/or device for all their CTA submissions, they will only need to verify their email once. If they complete the verification process and later return to the career site, landing page, or job using a different browser and/or device, they will be asked to verify their email again when completing the CTA.

What happens after verification

When a candidate is verified, a blue check mark will appear next to their name in their candidate profile. Their timeline will also have recorded the date and time of their change in status from Unverified to Verified, or Unknown to Known.

Why verification is required

Verification ensures that each email address submitted through a Call-to-Action form is owned by a real person and is capable of receiving messages. This safeguards the quality of the talent database, reduces bounce rates, and supports overall email deliverability. It also prevents the submission of invalid or automated entries, helping keep candidate profiles accurate and trustworthy.
