Recruitment Marketing Public
Tags are a widely used and effective means of finding and segmenting candidates in your general CRM database. Recruitment Marketing makes it easy to create and add tags to candidate records and build both smart and static lists using those tags.
There are two types of candidate tags: Manual and ATS. Manual tags can be created, edited, added to, and removed from candidates. However, ATS tags are read-only as they are imported from the ATS, and they are not selectable on the candidate profile.
You can add manual tags at an individual candidate level or in bulk to many candidates simultaneously. New tags can easily be created when updating a candidate's profile, in addition to assigning existing tags.
Adding a tag to a candidate
- From the side menu, under CRM, click Candidates.
- Use the search options to find the relevant candidate.
- Click the candidate's name to open their profile.
- In the RM Tags field, type the new tag or select an existing tag from the drop-down that displays.
- Press the Enter key to save it to that candidate.
Adding a tag to multiple candidates
- From the side menu, under CRM, click Candidates.
- Use the search options to find the relevant candidates.
- Select the checkbox next to the relevant candidates.
- From the actions bar, select Tag.
- In the Tag Candidates pop-up, type out the new tag or select an existing tag from the drop-down that displays.
- Click the Add Tags button to save and apply to the selected candidates.
Note:
In some cases, it is possible for tags created and assigned in the ATS to be imported automatically as part of the sync and associated with the candidate's record in Recruitment Marketing.

Tagging during bulk candidate imports
When uploading candidates into Recruitment Marketing, the import file supports assigning a single tag per candidate at the time of upload. Uploading candidates with multiple tags in one import is not currently supported.
Once candidates have been successfully uploaded into the system, additional tags can be added afterward. These extra tags can be applied either individually on the candidate profile or in bulk using the tagging actions within the CRM described above.
