Managing Career Site Strings (Table View)

Recruitment Marketing Public

This article explains how to modify the standard labels (strings) displayed on your career site's job search results. These strings specifically control the wording used in sidebar filters and job results table headers when using the Table View layout.

Why use this feature?

Updating site strings allows you to tailor your career site’s terminology to match your organization's unique branding or regional requirements. For example, you may wish to rename "Category" to "Department" or "Location" to "Region" to ensure the candidate experience feels familiar and intuitive.

Step 1: Create the Language Locale

Before updating translations, the specific language or locale must be active in your system settings.

  1. From the side menu, under the Company, click Settings.
  2. Under Miscellaneous, click on Localization.
  3. Click New.
  4. Select your Language from the drop-down menu.
  5. Add the URL prefix, e.g., if you selected English (British), the prefix is typically en-GB.
  6. Click Save.

Step 2: Access and Update Translations

Once the locale is established, you can begin replacing system default labels with your preferred wording.

  1. In the side menu, under Company, click Translations.
  2. Click New.
  3. Select the Locale from the drop-down menu that you just created, e.g., en-GB.
  4. On the right-hand side, under Careers site strings, find the relevant key for the label you wish to change, e.g., job_search_results.filters.category.header
  5. Click the Copy icon next to the key.
  6. Paste or select the key in the Code field.
  7. In the Value field, enter your new desired label, e.g., rename "Category" to "Categories".
  8. Click Save.

Important Considerations

  • Matching Labels: There are often separate strings for the sidebar filter label and the job results table column header. If you want consistent wording across the user interface, ensure you update both relevant keys.
  • Known Limitation: These string updates currently apply only to the Table View and its associated sidebar filters. They do not currently apply to the Card View layout.
