Recruitment Marketing Public
LinkedIn CRM Connect synchronizes data from your Recruitment Marketing CRM and LinkedIn Recruiter to streamline your hiring process.
Having key data synchronized between these two important parts of your Talent Acquisition technology stack prevents the need for your team to be continually switching back and forth between systems. This allows them more time to focus on doing what they do best.
Connecting Recruitment Marketing and LinkedIn Recruiter delivers a powerful solution that allows you to find, engage, and nurture the best talent for your organization.
Key features of the CRM Connect include:
- In your Recruitment Marketing CRM:
- LinkedIn Profile Widget
- LinkedIn InMail History.
- In LinkedIn Recruiter:
- 1-Click Export
- In-CRM Indicator
- In-CRM Tab.
To activate the integration, you will need to have the following:
- A LinkedIn Hiring Project Creator license.
- Access to the CRM module as part of your Recruitment Marketing package.
The person who initially activates the integration will also need to be:
- An administrator on your LinkedIn Recruiter Account.
- A Company Admin (or above) in Recruitment Marketing.
This LinkedIn Help article supports the configuration information provided below.

Configuration
What data is synchronised to LinkedIn Recruiter?
To facilitate the integration, the following data is synchronised from your Recruitment Marketing CRM to LinkedIn Recruiter. It should be noted that this data is ringfenced to your specific LinkedIn Recruiter account and is not available to other LinkedIn customers or as part of the candidate's public LinkedIn profile.
Candidate Data
The following data powers the matching of candidates between LinkedIn and your Recruitment Marketing CRM:
- Name
- Time created
- Last modified
- Resume
- Skills (optional - see Synchronisation Settings)
- Tags (optional - see Synchronisation Settings).
Candidate Interactions
This data adds richness to the In CRM candidate data presented within the candidate's profile in LinkedIn Recruiter:
- Interaction type (e.g., email, web session)
- Time created
- Last modified.
Projects
This data helps to identify candidates who are already members of a project or talent pipeline within your Recruitment Marketing CRM. It also helps facilitate the export of new candidates directly from LinkedIn Recruiter to a project within the CRM:
- Title
- Stages and stage details
- Time created
- Last modified.
A candidate's membership in a synchronised project will also be visible via the CRM tab on the candidate's LinkedIn profile within LinkedIn Recruiter.
For Projects where the Visibility Settings are set to Share this project with selected collaborators only the following data will also be synchronised:
- Access Control List (ACL) associated to the project
- ACL Assignees: the list of users that have access to the restricted project
This will ensure that only those users with access to the project on Recruitment Marketing will be able to see it in LinkedIn Recruiter. See Projects for more information.
Initial Setup
Setting up the LinkedIn CRM Connect Integration within Recruitment Marketing is simple.
Note:
If the LinkedIn CRM Connect option is not visible to you under the Integrations menu, contact PageUp to have it enabled.
Before beginning the setup, refer to the section below relating to controlling synchronized data. Furthermore, before completing the steps below, ensure you are logged into your LinkedIn Recruiter account using the same browser you used to log into Recruitment Marketing.
- From the side menu, under Integrations, select LinkedIn CRM Connect.
- Select the option to Integrate LinkedIn CRM Connect.
- You will be taken to the integration Setup screen.
- From the LinkedIn Integration widget, ensure that you have selected the appropriate LinkedIn Recruiter contract.
- The LinkedIn Integration widget will show a list of available integrations, which will include CRM Connect. Click the Choose integrations button to enable the selection of available integrations.
- Select the checkbox for the CRM Connect integration.
- Click Save changes.
- You will receive a message indicating that activation is pending. You can leave this screen for now and return later to confirm that activation has been completed. Activation is usually completed within 5 minutes.
- Once activation has been completed, you will see a message indicating that CRM Connect has been activated for the current contract.
- The setup of the LinkedIn CRM Connect integration is now complete.
Recruitment Marketing will start synchronizing data with LinkedIn Recruiter once the activation has been completed. The LinkedIn CRM Connect Setup screen will show the date and time of the last sync.
Note:
Upon initial integration activation, Recruitment Marketing will sync data for all existing candidates within your CRM to LinkedIn Recruiter. Depending on the size of your CRM database, this process may take several hours or, in some cases, several days.
The progress of the sync can be viewed directly from the LinkedIn CRM Connect Setup screen by clicking the Sync Logs tab.
Synchronization Management
Once configured, you can pause the sync of data from your Recruitment Marketing CRM to LinkedIn Recruiter.
- From the side menu, under Integrations, select LinkedIn CRM Connect.
- From the integration Setup screen, select Pause Sync.
- The sync of data is now paused.
You can resume the sync of data at any time by repeating the steps above and selecting Resume Sync.
Synchronization Logs
You can view a summary of the data synchronization from your Recruitment Marketing CRM to LinkedIn Recruiter.
This information may help you understand the progress of the initial synchronization, which occurs when the integration is first enabled. It also provides insight into any specific candidate records that may fail to synchronize successfully.
- From the side menu, under Integrations, select LinkedIn CRM Connect.
- Select the Synch Logs option at the top of the screen.
- From this screen, you will be able to view the status of the batches of candidate data that have been synchronized with LinkedIn. Candidates are synchronized in batches of up to 1000 candidates.
- If a particular batch shows that errors have occurred, you can select the View errors link against that batch to view the details of the specific errors.
The most likely cause of a candidate sync error is:
- The email address is invalid (or doesn't match the expected pattern), or
- The phone number is invalid (or doesn't match the expected pattern).
LinkedIn Recruiter Seats
As part of the synchronization of data between LinkedIn Recruiter and your Recruitment Marketing system, the LinkedIn CRM Connect integration will attempt to automatically map individuals with a Recruiter seat within LinkedIn Recruiter to their corresponding user record within Recruitment Marketing. This mapping is necessary to ensure that actions carried out by the user on a particular record are correctly attributed to the user within the candidate timeline.
Note:
It is important to ensure that all LinkedIn Recruiter members are mapped to a user account within Recruitment Marketing, as any inMail messages sent by an unmapped member will not be sychronised into Recruitment Marketing.
The mapping of users is primarily based on their email addresses. In situations where the email addresses map directly between the two systems, the alignment occurs automatically.
To view the mapped members:
- From the side menu, under Integrations, select LinkedIn CRM Connect.
- Select the Members option at the top of the screen.
- You will see a list of LinkedIn users who are currently allocated to a Recruiter Seat within the relevant LinkedIn Recruiter account.
On occasion, the integration will not be able to directly map users. This usually occurs when there is a disconnect between the email addresses that the user is using within the two systems. When this happens, it is possible to manually map the user records.
- From the Members option listed above, locate the LinkedIn member you would like to map.
- Under the Actions column, select the Edit option.
- From the list of Recruitment Marketing users displayed in the drop-down list, select the appropriate person.
- Click Save to complete the mapping.
Synchronization Settings
You have the option to include candidate tags and skills in the synchronization process. To enable these:
- From the side menu, under Integrations, select LinkedIn CRM Connect.
- Select the Settings option at the top of the screen.
- Tick the relevant boxes.
- Click Save.
