Employee Connections profiles
This article will cover how to create and manage user profiles for Employee Connections. Three types of profiles can be created in the platform:
- Insider
- Live chat insider
- Administrator
For a description of each profile and their system access, refer to Employee Connections user roles.
Creating a new profile
Administrators have access to set up users in the platform. To create a new profile:
- On the left-hand menu, select 'Insiders', then 'Invite new insider'
- Select the role - Insider, Live chat insider or Administrator
- Input the first name, last name & email address (the user can complete the remaining information when they log in)
- Click the blue 'Save' button at the bottom of the page
- On the next screen, click the 'Send invitation' button to trigger an email to the user. The email will contain a link for that person to set up a password, and complete their profile, if applicable.
Publishing a profile
When a user with the insider role completes their profile information and clicks the 'Validate my profile' button, an email will be sent to all platform admins. Click on the link in the email to review the profile and publish it. Once published, the profile appears on your public-facing platform.
Editing a profile
Insiders can log into your platform to edit their profile and personal information at any time. If an admin needs to edit a profile, they can do so by:
- Navigating to the 'Insiders' area of the platform and find the user
- Click on the user's name
- Select whether to edit the personal details, insights or career path of the user
- Make the relevant updates
- Click next until you progress through all sub-pages, and then the profile changes will save.
Unpublishing a profile
If an insider profile needs to be unpublished, or taken down from the public platform, this can be managed by your admins.
- Navigating to the 'Insiders' area of the platform and find the user
- Click on the actions menu
- Select 'Unpublish'
- The user profile will now appear in the 'Not published tab. Profiles can be re-published at any time using the same actions menu
Deleting a profile
Administrators can remove a user profile by:
- Navigating to the 'Insiders' area of the platform and find the user
- Click on the actions menu
- Select 'Delete'
