Downloading and exporting a report from within Looker

If the report has custom dimensions, measures or table calculations, there is a row limit of 5000. There is no limit when downloading a report which is using the standard dimensions and measures.

  1. Load the relevant report.
  2. From the top right, click the cog icon.
  3. Click Download.
  4. The Download pop up displays with a range of options, including the ability to save in the following formats: TXT, Excel, CSV, JSON, HTML, Markdown, PNG.

    • Values - select either:
      • Formatted - for the data to resemble what displays on the Explore screen.
      • Unformatted - to exclude special formatting. Select this if exporting to Excel and the data contains currency fields where both comma's and full stops are used, for example: 100,000.00.
    • Limit - select either:
      • Results in Table to download the data that is displayed on screen when viewing the report.
      • All Results to download all rows of data which meet the criteria of a report. This wont be available where a Custom Table Calculation is included in the report. This is because table calculations are not compatible.
  5. Once finalised, click Download to save the report data.
The report will be saved to your default downloads location.

Report templates

If you have associated a report template with your report, the template will only be attached when a report is delivered by email using the Send or Schedule option. It will also be available from the job card's Reports tab, then on relevant report card click Download.

Templates will also be applied when selecting Download from the actions menu in the Enhanced Reporting list page, against a report that has a template associated with it.

Sending a report

You can email a copy of the report by using the Send feature. This also allows you to see the results of the report within a linked report template.

  1. Load the relevant report.
  2. From the top right, click the cog icon.
  3. Click Send.
  4. In the Send pop up:
